The annual Cape Town Expo for Young Scientists will be held in the UCT Sports Centre from 9–11 August 2017. UCT staff and postgraduate students will be actively involved in judging research projects presented by the scholars, and will encourage them to pursue careers in Science and Technology.
The Cape Town Expo for Young Scientists is an annual event in which learners from Grade 6 to 12 showcase their investigative projects. It is in essence a science fair, where learners have a chance to show others their projects about their own scientific investigations. At Expo, learners can discuss their work with judges, teachers and learners from other schools and with other interested people. An important aspect of Expo is that other learners see the exhibitor's work. The prizes and prestige are only one consideration. By participating in Expo learners will increase their awareness of the wonders of Science, add to their knowledge and broaden their scientific horizons.
